Sun is Going Down; Self Tanners are Going up!

I’m the girl who used to be at the beach at least once a week, go to tanning salons (as bad as they were) and just always had my tanned skin on point; however, this was all before I had a child. Now, beach days include me chasing her to the water, controlling her from eating sand, and so on. Ok fine...let’s not blame it all on her.
 
I’m in my 30s and truly afraid of sun damage. In other words, I’m smarter now? Haha. Anyway, self-tanners have been my way of life and I’ve gone through many! The good, the bad and the ugly! I am not against white skin but I have see-ru skin, meaning my veins and capillaries are all very visible and it’s not pretty. Below, you will find a list of my favorite self-tanners and what and when I use each one for. Hope it’s helpful!

Vita Liberata Medium Bronzer - This is not so much a self-tanner but a makeup/bronzer. If my legs aren’t tanned and I wasn’t prepared to wear a skirt, I don’t leave the house without this! This bronzer is absolutely magical and leaves your legs looking so beautiful! Not only does if give your skin a beautiful glow but it covers everything and even makes your legs look toned! Make sure it’s dry before you dress because ultimately, it’s makeup. It comes in several shades so you can choose the right one based on your natural skin tone.  

Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning - I was prepping for a little photo shoot in Paris and I was going to wear a short dress. I guess Paris isn’t big on tanning supplies so I had to literally go on a hunt! Finally, I found this product and decided to give it a try. Oh. My. God. It’s probably the best tanning lotion I have ever tried; it gave my skin the most beautiful natural color with no streakiness and no bad odor! It shows up within only a couple hours and washes off evenly. I applied it again the second day for the shoot because it leaves this beautiful shimmer that makes your body glisten! The best part? Apply with your hands and wash it off right away. Voila! No mittens or gloves involved. 

Lorac TANtalizer - This is an OG favorite of mine for years now and continues to still stand in my cabinet. Whether you have a tan or not, this bronzer does something to your body! I wouldn’t recommend this on an average Tuesday as it’s extremely high shine; but events & photoshoots - this is your jam! Gives your skin that sought after “bronze” that everyone is looking for. The color is beautiful and you look almost, metallic - in a pretty way though! Again, it’s makeup so make sure it’s dry and wear your clothes carefully. This comes in two shades so you can pick which one is better for your skin tone!
